Corey Diamond, 16, was a member
of Chicago Uechi-ryu Karate for 11 years. Tragically, Corey’s life was taken by
a life-long felon who was fleeing from police before crashing into the car in
which Corey was riding. Corey was one of the very few children accepted into the
dojo, but he never let the fact that he was training alongside adults worry him.
Corey was a friend, a training partner, a student, a teacher and a warrior.
Corey was a hard-working and integral member of our dojo, and he taught us all
as much as we taught him. Corey will be missed by all.

Once again we have the pleasure
of introducing the newest member of the Dojo: Maya Whitney Zaveduk was born
today at 10:41am, weighing in at 7
lbs., 6 oz. and 21 inches. Mommy and big sister Kaylee are doing well, and Daddy is
overjoyed. Congratulations from us all at Chicago Uechi-ryu!
